Heaps Decent is a youth arts organisation bringing music, creativity and community together.
Founded in 2007 by DJs Nina Las Vegas and Andrew Levins, with founding support from Diplo, Heaps Decent is all about breaking down barriers to creativity and making the arts more accessible to young people.
We deliver free music, visual art and digital media programs, creating welcoming and inclusive spaces for young people to explore their creativity, build confidence, connect with others and develop their skills.
Our programs include:
Home Base – Our creative home for young people to make music, experiment with new ideas, collaborate with others and explore their creative potential. Whether you're just starting out or already working on your next big project, Home Base is a space to create, connect and grow.
Base Camp – A series of free creative masterclasses and workshops led by artists, musicians and industry professionals. From music production and songwriting to DJing, creative careers and behind-the-scenes industry insights, Base Camp connects young people with inspiring creatives to learn new skills, share ideas and explore what's possible.
Alongside these programs, we host creative workshops, collaborations, live events and community experiences that celebrate young voices and bring people together through music and art.
At Heaps Decent, we believe creativity should be for everyone, regardless of background, circumstance or experience.
