The Purposes of the Association: Heart of Wisdom
1. To preserve of the Mahayana Tradition by organising retreats with FPMT teachers and improving infrastructure to support those retreats.
2. To preserve Tibetan Buddhist philosophy, psychology, logic, metaphysics, art, sacred dance, sacred music, crafts and skills and Tibetan medicine.
3. To develop a cohesive community involving the 4 entities: Great Stupa of Universal Compassion, Thubten Shedrup Ling Monastery, Atisha Buddhist Centre and Machig Labdron Nunnery.
HOW aims:
To preserve the Mahayana teachings and the spiritual authority of its teachers and their successors.
To provide Buddhist education for people of all ages. To provide short, long-term courses and retreats in Buddhist philosophy and religion.
To undertake community and charitable work.
To recognise the spiritual authority the Spiritual Director of the Foundation for the Preservation of Mahayana Buddhism.
