The Hill Family Foundation for Art and Music is a registered NZ charity #22746. Its primary purposes are to promote and advance the education of young New Zealand musicians; recognize and reward excellence in the performance of their instruments; promote opportunities for the performance of local composition; and to encourage New Zealanders’ appreciation of music generally. We do this through the presentation of three music events, each spread over a three year cycle, and each based in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The Foundation also runs an Instrument Bank through which string instruments can be loaned or donated. The Instrument Bank matches instruments with leading young artists and restores many instruments to make them available for community music programmes.
