HOST International Aotearoa New Zealand (HOST NZ) is a New Zealand-registered charity, founded in 2018, that supports effective integration of former refugees, migrants, and displaced people, promoting manaakitanga (care & hospitality) toward newcomers.
Vision & Mission
HOST’s vision is for a more inclusive world where displaced individuals and host communities work together to build better lives based on humanity, hope and dignity. Our mission is to improve and settlement outcomes and self-agency by fostering individual wellbeing, community inclusion, and systemic change.
Key Services & Programs
HOST operates across four principal service areas:
Community Capacity Building – Developing leadership and voice for ethnic communities (currently under development).
Digital Inclusion – Co-designing digital literacy initiatives to bridge the digital divide for former refugee and migrant communities.
Community Refugee Sponsorship (CORS) – Serving as umbrella organisation for the extended pilot (2021–2026). HOST guides community groups in sponsoring refugees and supports settlement for two years
Employment & Career Support – Offering strengths-based, trauma-informed coaching, mentoring, and employer outreach to support meaningful employment for former refugees and migrants.
