First and foremost, The Elite Kiki House of Silky is a family unit part of the so-called 'Australian' ballroom scene. Established in 2019, Silky has interwoven cultures from their indigenous and diasporic ancestry intersecting their queerness and transness, whilst paying homage to the icons and legends both past and present of the ballroom scene globally.
Born out of the nightlife scene by two club kids, Silky has now emerged chapters across Gadigal, Naarm and Boorloo. House of Silky has disrupted underground culture across music, art and fashion while creating spaces for the QTBIPOC community.
