Hunter Multicultural Communities (HMC) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Newcastle, proudly serving the Hunter Region for over 40 years. Our mission is to celebrate diversity, strengthen community connections, and create opportunities for people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds to thrive.
We provide a wide range of programs and services, including:
Support for seniors – transport, social programs, and wellbeing activities that reduce isolation and keep our multicultural seniors connected.
Community garden & café – a vibrant gathering place where people come together to grow, share, and connect.
Youth programs – mentoring, skills development, and inclusive activities that empower the next generation.
Volunteer opportunities – engaging people of all ages and backgrounds to contribute, connect, and learn new skills.
Events & cultural celebrations – including the Multicultural Fiesta, workshops, and outreach programs that showcase the rich cultural diversity of our region.
Partnerships – working closely with local organisations, schools, and community groups to build a more inclusive Hunter.
At HMC, we believe in belonging, inclusion, and opportunity for all.
