The Islamic Society of UNSW(ISOC)—the official MSA -Faith-Unity-Peace

Serving the community since 1969

The Islamic Society (ISOC) provides services and facilities to meet the obligation under Islamic teaching and practices for the Muslim students and staff at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and the surrounding Eastern suburb region. The society includes local and international students and staff members from the surrounding Eastern suburb Muslim communities. It has grown from just a few members in 1969 and flourished into a modern community that upholds the high moral and spiritual values of Islam and working toward creating an inclusive Australian Muslim Society.

As a religious society with numerous members, ISOC has been entrusted by the University of New South Wales (UNSW) with good facilities to help meet its member's needs. The facilities include a prayer room and facilities for ablutions as well as a dedicated large indoor sports hall for Friday Jummah prayer. These facilities have encouraged Muslim students to be more active in participating in regular daily prayers as well as major Islamic events and activities. ISOC has enjoyed a very supportive and cooperative relationship with UNSW.

ISOC is always looking for dedicated volunteers and donations to continue services of regular Islamic Events and Activities. Please email muslimoffice@unsw.edu.au for an expression of interest in volunteering.
