Hi, I'm Jacinta, and I am a final year PhD student in the School of Biomedical Engineering. I am in the SydneyBionics group, supervised by Prof Gregg Suaning, and working on developing an implant to restore blinking in people who have lost this ability through Facial Nerve Paralysis.
I am also very committed to building social and academic networks, both within the Faculty of Engineering, and across the University of Sydney. I hope through this initiative, we can support HDR students to feel more confident in their research and skills as they progress through their degrees.
My co-hosts are Dr Matilda Longfield, a post-doctoral research working in Diabetes research between the Kolling Institute and Royal North Shore hospital, and Dr Collin Anderson, an academic in the neurology field in the School of Medical Science.
