Jacki Rowles is a family violence practitioner, clinical supervisor, and educator based in Aotearoa New Zealand, working from the frameworks of Evan Stark's Coercive Control, Social Entrapment Theory, and the Response-Based Practice developed by Allan Wade and Linda Coates. She is a Full Member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC), certified in Response-Based Practice, and provides individual and group clinical supervision to frontline family violence workers and professionals across Aotearoa. She also prepares specialist Systemic Coercive Control assessments and reports institutional contexts.
Jacki submitted her doctoral thesis, Institutional Systems Abuse within Systemic Coercive Control, at Massey University in 2025. Her research examines how systems (social organisational, institutional and legal) can become sites of ongoing harm, and underpins the practitioner training she delivers — built around a model of being Informed, Applied, and Accountable.
