Jackie has been teaching yoga since 2007. She was originally drawn to yoga to help alleviate pain from scoliosis. What she found in yoga was not only pain relief, but also relief from anxiety and stress. She had been teaching yoga for three years when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She experienced how yoga helped her cope with the challenges of the cancer treatments and helped her heal her mind, body and spirit. Her joy and passion is sharing with others the tools that she has learned and that have helped her in navigating life’s challenges.
Jackie is passionate about her yoga studies. She completed her first 200 hour yoga teaching training with Mary Bruce at SWIHA in 2007. In 2013 she completed the 500 hour Healing Emphasis Yoga Teacher training at Inner Vision Yoga with Jeff and Donna Martins. She completed a second 200 hour teacher training with Erin Widman in 2019.
Jackie has a Master’s degree in Social Work and has been a Faculty Associate at ASU since 2014, teaching Stress Management Tools, which is a Mindfulness based approach to Stress Management.
In her free time she loves spending time outdoors in beautiful Flagstaff. She loves hiking, traveling and of course doing yoga!
