With over 10 years of teaching experience Jana brings her favorite yoga practices to share with the Warrandyte community.
These offerings stem from classical yoga practices of Asana, pranayama, mudra and the energetic systems of the Chakras to use as tools to restore balance and presence to the body and mind, while incorporating ancient yogic philosophy and storytelling to create a deeper experience within.
Jana also brings in East Asian Medicine wisdom and philosophy to her classes. As a Shiatsu Practitioner Jana holds a great depth of knowledge in the 5-element system and sees it as, not just an understanding but a way of living.
Hatha Flow.
This is a traditional way to practice Yoga by incorporating The Eight Limbs of Yoga
These classes combined Asana, Pranayama, Mudra, Meditation, focus on Chakras and Yogic Mythology and philosophy.
These practices will create strength and flexibility, release tension, cultivate inner awareness, and embody a practice that extends beyond the mat — into daily life with clarity and purpose.
Suitable for all levels.
Yin and Nidra
Yin Yoga is a meditative, floor-based practice of stillness, where poses are passively held for 3–8 minutes.
These longer holds support the release of connective tissue, enhance circulation within the joints and muscle tissue, improve flexibility and a sense of flow in the Meridian channels.
Yin offers a powerful complement to more dynamic practices and the often-fast pace of daily life. Yin counterbalances the demands from the outside world by inviting stillness, softness, spacious,
To Support the deep integration of this practice the class finishes with a guided Yoga Nidra. Grounding you into your body, to provide relaxation and restoration
Jana's Bio;
I first came to yoga in my early 20’s, when I was experiencing severe tension in my back, shoulders and neck from my job at the time.
Iyengar Yoga was the first lineage of Yoga I experienced. It gave me the foundations of the physical practice and provided me the tools to apply and support my body in day to day living, especially in correcting my posture and collapsed feet.
I continued my discovery of Yoga in India, spending time in multiple ashrams and a Buddhist silent retreat. Then to continue training under international teachers in the lineage of Ashtanga, Yin and Tradional Tantric Yoga.
From my time in India, I adapted more of a spiritual practice, through meditation, pranayama, Japa and Bhakti Yoga, which I have continued to practice over the past 15 years. It's been through these practices that I have gained a greater understanding and a deeper connection to myself.
In 2013-2014 I studied Advanced Diploma of Yoga with the Australian Academy of Yoga Learning, Melbourne. 2015 I began my teaching journey in England hosting community yoga classes at Studio IO In Brighton UK.
Upon returning to Melbourne 2017 to the present I have taught at Bliss Yoga and wellbeing Fairfield and The Retreat Yoga Studio Camberwell teaching Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative, Yin and guided meditations.
Since completing my Shiatsu Diploma in 2022, I have held Shiatsu Yin immersions in Warrandyte, Brunswick and Camberwell. Which has been a beautiful expression of the two modalities in action.
It is my life's passion to bring Yoga and Shiatsu to the wider community and to share the potent gifts of healing they offer.
