Janita Ayton is a travelling bookbinder and workshop facilitator dedicated to preserving memory through craft.
Working from her custom-outfitted caravan, she delivers mobile workshops and restoration services across regional Australia — repairing treasured books and heirlooms with care and precision.

With over 30 years of experience, Janita blends traditional Japanese and Western binding techniques with leatherwork and archival repair, offering a hands-on connection to history through binding. Her signature program, Bind Your Story, invites participants to link personal memory with craftsmanship — stitching past to present, one thread at a time.

Whether restoring a family bible, boxing a photo album, or leading a workshop under a gum tree, Janita brings humour, skill, and a deep respect for story to every project.
