Hi, I’m Jordan—a filmmaker and artist based in Melbourne, working primarily with 16mm film. My work centres on the tactile, unpredictable nature of analog filmmaking, where each frame carries the weight of materiality, chance, and process.
Over the past several years, I’ve created and exhibited 16mm films both in Australia and internationally, often working in experimental modes that embrace handmade techniques, in-camera effects, and hand-processing. I’ve completed artist residencies focused on analog film, and my practice extends across expanded cinema, film sculpture, and collaborative performance.
Whether developing my own filmmaking techniques, building custom projection systems, or constructing narrative through gesture and rhythm, I’m deeply committed to keeping analog processes alive and accessible.
My workshops and teaching grew from a desire to share the analog process in a clear, practical, and open way. Shooting analog film is something anyone can do—it just takes a bit of guidance, a willingness to try, and a respect for the medium. The practice of making isn't about perfection; it's about experimenting, learning by doing, and seeing your own creations come to life in a real, physical form.
Whether you're completely new to film or someone returning to the format, you’re very welcome here.
