Meet Your Host and Instructor
Jose J. Pita is a professional ceramic artist, independent studio artist, and experienced visual arts educator with a Master of Fine Arts degree. He teaches ceramics, sculpture, AP 3-D Art and Design, and art history at both the secondary and college levels.
Through his ceramics workshops, Jose welcomes participants of all experience levels into a creative and supportive studio environment. His classes combine clear demonstrations, hands-on practice, individual guidance, and the freedom to develop a personal artistic style.
Workshops may explore handbuilding, coil and slab construction, sculpture, functional pottery, surface decoration, glazing, and wheel throwing. Jose’s goal is to make ceramic art approachable, enjoyable, and meaningful while helping each participant build confidence, learn new skills, and create artwork they are proud of.
