The Joy Fools bring joyful roving acts and playful participatory events to the streets of Ōtautahi. These clowns are determined to have a good time, whether it’s hobby horse racing in the central city or providing refreshments to the public as the Tea Lady Association of Pleasant Point. The Joy Fools (directed by Kate Finnerty) have emerged out of local theatre company Feminist Clown Posse - a 25-strong clown clan of glorious idiots from across Ōtautahi, run by award winning theatre maker Tessa Waters.
