I grew up in Delhi eating my grandmother’s food: “nothing fancy, just simple ghar ka khana(Home food).” Those humble meals, along with hours spent baking beside my father in his bakery, are the foundation of how I cook today.
I’m Kanika Gadyok, a Sydney-based cook with Delhi roots and a MasterChef Australia alum. I became known for my heartfelt storytelling and my modern take on the recipes I grew up with. I cook modern Indian food: I take the memory of a dish and reimagine it in a way you’ve never seen before.
The Sydney Nest is where I bring those memories to the table: warm, nostalgic and quietly ceremonial, like India’s food itself.
This is a rare, intimate way to experience my cooking, balancing memory with modernity. The supper club returns with new themes throughout the year, so no two evenings are the same.
