With nearly 35 years of experience across local government, NSW Government, and the non-government youth sector, Kate is a respected youth work leader specialising in youth participation, trauma-informed practice, community development, and systemic advocacy.
Kate is passionate about strengthening youth work practice and supporting services to create meaningful change alongside young people — particularly those young people navigating complex systems such as child protection, justice, homelessness, and mental health systems. One of her favourite things is to deliver workshops with the youth sector that are engaging, practical, reflective, and grounded in real-world youth work experience.
In 2024, Kate founded Luminosity Development Solutions to support organisations and communities through training, facilitation, and strategic development. She was also awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 2024 for service to young people and, in 2025, was inducted into the NSW Youth Work Hall of Fame.
