Katja is a set and costume designer/ maker (BA Hon Theatre Design Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design London) and artist currently based in the Illawarra NSW.
She has worked on a wide range of projects in film, performing and visual arts as well as in events. She loves making as much as designing and has a strong background as a costume props maker (The Chronicles of Narnia, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Lion King, Priscilla and others…). https://www.katjahandt.com/
Costume props also eventually led to a high specialisation in leather craft and setting up her own leather atelier Kattasche in 2019.
She has also taught making and design from community to university level, most recently at the University of Wollongong.
