The Kelp Forest Alliance is an organization dedicated to the conservation, enhancement, and restoration of kelp forests around the world. These ecosystems cover a third of the world's coastlines and support extensive marine biodiversity and human livelihoods. However, they are under severe threat from rising sea temperatures, overfishing, pollution, and other environmental pressures.
We have launched the Kelp Forest Challenge, aiming to protect and restore 4 million hectares of kelp forests globally by 2040. This ambitious initiative seeks to engage a diverse range of stakeholders, including scientists, business leaders, government representatives, artists, and educators, in collaborative efforts to safeguard these vital underwater ecosystems.
