Kununurra Waringarri Aboriginal Corporation (KWAC) is an Aboriginal-led organisation established in 1979 to support local Aboriginal people to achieve social, cultural, and economic empowerment. Guided by Aboriginal leadership, we deliver programs in school engagement, youth development, men’s healing, cultural preservation, and safe community spaces. Our work builds on the strength of Country, Lore, and culture to support healing, inclusion, and pathways to opportunity.
Throughout the year, KWAC hosts a range of community events and co-design workshops that bring people together to listen, share, and shape solutions. These include Men’s Cultural Healing Camps and Forums, youth programs, cultural celebrations such as our NAIDOC Bushtucker Event and Waringarri Day, and co-design sessions where Elders, families, and young people help guide service design. Each gathering is a chance to strengthen identity, celebrate culture, and create the conditions where Aboriginal people and communities can thrive.
For community, by community, to strengthen community.
