Hi, I'm Lael, a potter based in beautiful Mangawhai, Northland.
I've been working with clay for a number of years now, creating functional and expressive ceramics using a combination of wheel throwing and hand building techniques. What began as a creative hobby quickly became a passion, and today I have the privilege of welcoming people into my own private pottery studio.
My workshops are designed to be relaxed, welcoming, and beginner friendly, with small class sizes that allow plenty of one on one guidance. Whether you're trying pottery for the first time or looking to build on existing skills, you'll have the opportunity to explore a range of techniques using the same tools and equipment I use in my own pottery practice.
One of my favourite parts of teaching is seeing the moment people realise they can create something they never thought possible. My goal is for everyone to leave feeling proud of what they've made, having learnt something new, and most importantly, having had fun.
