With more than 20 years’ experience, Lairg & District Learning Centre is at the heart of community learning in the rural Highlands.
From our base in Lairg, we bring accessible, affordable and inspiring learning to people across Sutherland, Caithness and beyond. Our grant funded projects include everything from arts, crafts, cookery and traditional skills to digital learning and inclusion, employability, wellbeing, languages and activities for children and families. We also offer online learning, connecting people wherever they live.
We’re a small team with a big reach, working with brilliant tutors, local organisations and communities to create opportunities that simply wouldn’t otherwise be available in such a rural area. Many of our activities are free or low-cost, helping to ensure that cost, distance or lack of transport are not barriers to taking part.
We believe that living rurally should never limit what you can learn, experience or achieve, and we’re incredibly proud of the welcoming, creative and ambitious learning community we’ve built.
