Caring for the land, water and nature that sustain our communities and industries in South Australia's Northern and Yorke region The Northern and Yorke Landscape Board leads the sustainable management of one of South Australia’s most diverse and productive regions - stretching from the Barossa and Clare Valleys through the Mid North to the Yorke Peninsula and southern Flinders Ranges.
We focus on practical, community-driven action across land and water stewardship, biodiversity conservation, pest plant and animal control, and climate resilience. As one of South Australia’s nine landscape regions, we work in partnership with communities, landholders, First Nations peoples, and government to protect and enhance the landscapes that underpin our environment, economy, and way of life. We are guided by the Landscape South Australia Act 2019.
Our region spans 38,500 km², including 1,300 km of coastline, supporting around 150,000 people and the industries that depend on healthy natural resources, from agriculture and viticulture to tourism, fishing, and mining. Our vision is a resilient and productive landscape that sustains thriving communities, ecosystems and industries for generations to come. We’re here to inspire, educate and empower people to be active custodians of the places they live, work and love - from the hills and plains to the sea.
