For 40 years, Laura worked happily as a high school teacher of French, Italian, English and History. Born in Belgium, of Italian descent, Laura was always fascinated with the way language shapes an individual’s world view, and as a migrant herself, has experienced the flow of connection and disconnection common to many Australians.
While Laura began writing stories from a very young age, it was her passion for history that spurred her special retirement project: becoming a self-published author. Currently Laura is presenting her third novel, all set in her beloved Adelaide home and featuring Italian migration themes with a focus on areas of Adelaide's history that may not have been told before.
Laura's other novels include: Cremona House (2024) and Working it Out (2025). Laura is also the co-presenter of the series of exhibitions held between 2023 and 2025 "Italian Gloryboxes of Love", now available to view on the website www.italiangloryboxesoflove.com
