The Life Models’ Society was formed in 1989 when a group of models decided to organise themselves in order to advocate for better pay and conditions for people working as life models in Melbourne.
Since then we have grown to a membership of about 200 models based in Melbourne. We continue to be by models, for models.
We are a volunteer-led organisation with an elected committee of up to 9 people.
The LMS is an incorporated association and private organisation.
We provide training to aspiring models and new members before they are invited to join the LMS. This means all LMS member models have the same foundation level of knowledge whether they are new to the profession or new to the LMS.
We advertise tickets to our workshops here, as well as other events such as our seasonal Salons and Extravaganzas, which are special life drawing events for the artistic community.
