Live Art Benalla is new performance platform developed to present multidisciplinary events in Benalla and surrounding areas. LAB works with local artists, organisations and the community to program events and create artistic experiences and opportunities. These may include performances, festivals, workshops, professional development and talks, in a range of disciplines focused on the creation and presentation of performance.
In April 2022 Live Art Benalla launched its platform with a one-off, special performance event featuring Queensland-based, multidisciplinary artist Zoe Porter called SURFACE. Since this launch, Live Art Benalla has been working with local organisations, community and artists in the North East region, to conceive and deliver events for the community in a range of public spaces.
Since we started, all of our events have been free, not-for-profit and funded by the local council and via in-kind support from organisations. To push our programming further and bring exciting work to the community, we need to expand our financial support and are seeking funders and stakeholders to join the team. We need your support to ensure our events stay accessible, community focused and foster opportunities for local practicing artists to showcase their work.
