The Live4Life program is an evidence-based, community-driven initiative aimed at improving youth mental health and reducing suicide in rural and regional communities. Ballarat entered its fourth year of implementation in 2026, building on strong foundations established since 2023.
The Live4Life Program Model:
Delivers accredited teen and youth mental health first aid training in schools and to adults in the wider community.
Creates local partnerships to lead conversations about mental health that reduce stigma.
Promotes young leaders as Mental Health Ambassadors
The whole of community approach is designed to strengthen early identification, reduce stigma, increase help-seeking, improve referral pathways, and build long-term community resilience.
The Lead Agent for the program is City of Ballarat. Please direct all enquiries to youth@ballarat.vic.gov.au
Youth MHFA training courses are delivered by our valued partners at Ballarat Community Health and Victorian Department of Education.
