Launched in 2017, Liz Kane Literacy is dedicated to bridging the gap between evidence-based research and the teaching of reading, spelling and writing.
Structured Literacy focuses on both How we teach: explicitly, systematically and cumulatively, and What we teach: Phonemic Awareness, Orthography (the spelling system), Morphology, Vocabulary, Syntax and Grammar, giving children the skills they need to read, spell and write with confidence.
Since its inception, the numbers of teachers, school leaders, parents, Speech Language Therapists, Resource Teachers of Literacy, and Resource teachers of Learning and Behaviour who became interested in Structured Literacy has grown exponentially.
Fast-forward to today, and Liz Kane Literacy is going from strength to strength expanding its network collaborating with a team of passionate educators and ambassadors across the country collectively supporting each classroom’s needs.
