Liz Nevieve grew up in Sydney, Australia and attended Glenaeon Rudolf Steiner School for her primary and secondary schooling. As a child, Liz loved eurythmy and secretly wished she could join the adult classes that she’d heard were being offered in the evenings, to no avail. At 19 her deep desire to take eurythmy further came true when Liz travelled to Stuttgart, Germany, to take up eurythmy training in earnest at the highly regarded, Eurythmeum Stuttgart under the direction of Elsa Klink. Upon completion of her studies, Liz returned to Sydney where she taught at Glenaeon and performed as a member of numbers of ensembles for over 20 years. Her passion for eurythmy, which was in essence a desire for what is invisible to be made visible, also manifested as a deep commitment to the development of curriculum (making the unseen seen is at the heart of all aspects of Steiner education, in each subject area from English to chemistry). Liz enjoyed supporting the further development of Steiner education at Glenaeon in Curriculum Coordinator, Director of Studies and Deputy Head of School roles, all the while continuing to teach eurythmy. Liz is currently the Principal at Aurora Southern Highlands Steiner School in Bowral and a highlight of her week includes teaching eurythmy to Aurora’s Year 11 and 12 students as part of their Philosophy course.
