Lizzy is a dancer, dance teacher, art therapist, play therapist and mum who specialises in therapy for children and the joy of getting adults moving.
She ran her dance studio, Studio B, in Melbourne from 2014-2018 and her dance school, Bey Dance became a Melbourne icon. Returning to Adelaide in 2019 she was keen to re-imagine what a dance class could look like for busy adults still wanting to move.
Dance Club was born in January 2024 with the fundamental goal of sustainability: for teacher, participant, finances, health and planet. There's no need to commit yourself in to consecutive classes, each class is standalone. No pressure to perform in front of others. No pressure to come when unwell, exhausted or over run by life. In times of financial pressure, this class is pay as you feel. If you need to take breaks, go at a gentler pace or adapt moves for your body's capacity at that moment, you are welcome to. There are no costumes required and any merchandise is upcycled and recycled and purely for fun. Dance Club has grown to weekly Sunday dances on Kaurna Land with Naarm classes in the planning. Come and join the club!
