Lorcan Power is an art heart, passionate about story telling and meaning making through the body. Their current mediums are performance, choreography, teaching, photography and film.
They have had training and mentorship across various dance cultures and theatre practices. They have travelled and performed internationally in Tokyo for Ian Eastwood's work a part of En Dance Summer Show, a part of the dance installation in London 'Does It Matter In The Dark?', directed by Alice Robinson and Ireland for Take Flight's showcase. Lorcan was also a member of One Dance Company 2018-2022.
Some of their performance credits include : Sydney World Pride, Dark Mofo, AGNSW, MCA, Victoria Pride, Heapsgay, Betty Grumble, Chela ETC and Lupa J. Is the current choreographer for gay pop icon Brendan Maclean. And has directed two full-length live show’s ‘Faux Pas’ with a sold out season at Flight Path Theatre, 2022. And ‘anam cara’ at PACT 2024. Lorcan recently was a mentor / collaborator for Hugo Poulet's debut solo work 'Orbital' a part of Catapult's residency, and selected for Performance Space x Critical Path's Experimental Choreographic LAB.
Lorcan is dedicated to the power of dance and how it is a tool to generate feeling through themselves and collaborators, offering spaces of intention, depth, light and play.
