Made in the West Film Festival brings the glamour of a red carpet industry awards night to Western Sydney filmmakers. Hosted by Made in the West CREATIVE, the festival shines a spotlight on Western Sydney’s emerging film scene, connecting independent and student filmmakers with established industry experts for one spectacular event showcasing locally produced films.
Founded in 2012, Made in the West is the biggest annual celebration of Western Sydney talent on the big screen.
Films are judged by a panel of industry professionals and four major awards are presented on the night: Best in the West, Best Student Film, Best Music Video and the highly coveted Audience Choice Award. PLUS, the festival now screens online and on-demand all summer long, so audiences at home can now cast their votes for the annual People's Choice Award plus a suite of new genre awards.
Throughout the year, we host #WesternSydneyFilm Online Networking Events for local creatives to meet one another, talk shop, and find collaborators for their projects.
