Madness of Two is an exciting new theatre company, founded by award-winning theatre- makers, Ellen Graham and Jamie Hornsby. Using their own special blend of innovative writing, devised theatre-making, whimsy and charm, Madness of Two tackles important issues in non-traditional ways. The company creates work in multiple genres, with multiple styles, and for multiple demographics, with a strong focus on young and diverse audiences. Ellen and Jamie were the inaugural Artists in Residence at Slingsby, where they developed Claire Della and the Moon and formed their company. Claire Della and the Moon premiered in September 2020 to rave reviews, and went on to win two AWGIE awards, including the prestigious David Williamson Award for Excellence in Writing for Australian Theatre. Madness of Two’s first production, ‘Dead Gorgeous: A True Crime Clown Show’ was programmed for creative development as part of the inaugural season of RUMPUS and premiered at the 2020 Adelaide Fringe. Starweaver, their next collaboration, will be an innovative multimodal theatrical experience, initially developed through Adelaide Festival Centre’s inSPACE Development program and supported by the Australian Writers’ Guild.
