Hello! My name is Marcia Sweigert and I have been a professional interior designer for 26 years. I own a small interior design firm, where I specialize in designing and managing projects for residential, kitchen and bath, small commercial offices and churches. Having worked with many senior clients, with limited mobility, I am passionate about barrier free design and designing for the aging population.
I am NCIDQ-certified, a WELL AP and am also CLIPP (Certified Living in Place Professional) certified. I have been awarded a certificate in Health and Wellness from USGBC.
I have led classes and developed content for NCIDQ study courses for both ASID Illinois and IIDA RMC. I have also taught professionally for ID Conquer, preparing designers for the IDPX exam. I helped several designers pass their exam, after they have failed on their own numerous times. You can read some reviews from those designers. https://www.linkedin.com/in/marciasweigert/ I believe in advancing the profession of interior design, and I love helping fellow designers prepare for and pass the NCIDQ exam.
As a business owner, I am very familiar with Project and Business Management, which includes owner-designer agreements, project management, bidding, contract administration, FF&E contracts and business practices.
I am also very experienced with sourcing and selecting materials and finishes and am knowledgeable about architectural woodwork. I can assist you with calculations for drapery, window coverings, carpet and carpet diagrams, and in understanding and preparing construction drawings.
I am very happy to help you prepare for FX, PX or the Practicum exams.
