Margaret Skagias is the founder and CEO of CaringKids, a charity she started in 2014 to support young carers—children who care for family members with disabilities or chronic illnesses.
With over 25 years of experience in social work and community programs, Margaret was inspired to help these hidden heroes after years of running emotional support and respite camps.
CaringKids provides Joy Boxes filled with toys, games, school stationery and sports equipment to bring happiness and childhood moments to young carers, many of whom face social isolation and financial hardship.
Margaret’s work is widely recognised, including awards from Lions Clubs International and within the local community, reflecting her ongoing dedication to practical support and awareness for young carers across Australia.
