I was born with the ability to create with my hands. Everything arty and crafty has given me enormous pleasure for years.
As a child, I wasn’t interested in painting. But in my early adulthood, the desire was brewing. However, not a structured, realism style. That was way too conformist for me. Ken Done was my inspiration in the 80's. I was fascinated by his style—splashes of vibrant colour and carefree expression.
It took me over 20 years before I found my niche.
It was worth the wait! I love what I do.
My style is abstract and impressionistic. With a hearty dose of intuition too.
I use sea sponges and items that usually end up in the bin. Like cardboard, plastic lids and bits of plastic as my tools. Frames and old paintings are upcycled wherever possible.
My paintings intend to uplift or inspire you, add interest, beauty and colour to a blank space, with a hearty dash of JOY.
