Matthew Warnken is a pioneering climate entrepreneur and the founder of AgriProve and Corporate Carbon.
Over the last two decades, Matthew has been a driving force in advancing climate solutions. His expertise encompasses diverse areas such as alternative fuels, bioenergy, resource recovery, and nature-based solutions.
Matthew is a pro-capitalist and believes in a future where ecology and economy converge. He believes responsible profit generation can coexist alongside environmental preservation, and that in order to out-compete other sectors for the world’s best talent, the environmental sector needs to put profit first.
In 2010, he founded Corporate Carbon, a trailblazing carbon project development, ownership, and management company. As the Managing Director, he played a pivotal role in nurturing one of Australia's most innovative carbon solution enterprises.
In 2020, Matthew transitioned into the role of Corporate Carbon chair, allowing him to focus on AgriProve, a specialised soil carbon solutions provider that emerged from Corporate Carbon in 2018.
AgriProve's approach has gained widespread recognition, being the first to receive Australian soil carbon credits (ACCUs) under the Emission Reduction Fund in 2019 and the first to receive digital soil carbon model-enabled ACCUs in 2023. The business was invited by the Australian Government to present its soil carbon program at the Australia Pavilion as part of Glasgow COP26.
In 2022, Matthew was recognised as one of Australia’s 'Top 100 Green Power Players’ by The Australian.
Matthew’s innovations were recently recognised with Agriprove winning the 2022 Financial Review BOSS Most Innovative Companies Best Service Innovation and Most Innovative Company in the Agriculture, Mining, and Utilities sector.
Matthew is an experienced communicator with a depth of knowledge across a wide range of topics including entrepreneurship, sustainability, innovation, leadership and tech.
Matthew has formal training in natural resource management and holds undergraduate qualifications in Arts and Science from the Australian National University. He furthered his academic pursuits with a Masters of Engineering Research from the University of Sydney and a business Masters in Early Stage Commercialisation from the University of Adelaide.
