The Multicultural Association Hawkes Bay Inc - Te Kāhui Kanorau O Te Matau-a- Māui (MCAHB) was first incorporated as the Ethnic Association HB on 17 October 2008. On 8 October 2012, which underwent a name change to the current name to be in line with all other Ethnic Councils/Associations within New Zealand.
MCAHB was registered as a Charitable Organisation on 18 June 2013, and it has been an incorporated society and a voluntary organisation governed by an executive team of eight members (including the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) representing different cultural groups within the organisation.
