Sector Support and Development (SSD) supports Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) providers to improve quality of service and increase capability, especially throughout the current Aged Care reforms. CHSP organisations provide entry-level support for older people to maintain their independence at home and keep them as well as possible.

MDS SSD, in collaboration with other regional and national SSD's, provide opportunities for CHSP staff and volunteers to up-skill on a variety of aged care topics via participation in training workshops, conferences, ageing forums and weekly e-news updates.

MDS SSD also provide occasional information sessions to support community members navigate the aged care system.

Sector Support and Development is funded by the Department of Health and Aged Care.
