Mel (Fefine mo tangata / Genderfluid, all pronouns) is a multidisciplinary artist and storyteller. Their practice centres around reconnecting to their Fijian (Daku Village, Tailevu, Nandronga), Tongan (Leimatu’a, Pelehake, Vava’u), and Samoan (Upolu, Moata’a, Apia) roots through creating work around pre-colonial mythology and lived experiences. They have a background in fine arts, galleries, arts administration, event production, pop up stores, lecturing.
