For all our wealth, we live in culturally threadbare times. Acknowledging the powerful undertow of BAU, I am excited to return to teaching and my creative/cultural practice after a handful of years working within organisational contexts.
I have facilitated, directed and produced a body of place-mentored, communal and collaborative performance works with communities across the NSW/QLD border region. These works include Wild City (Bleach Festival 2019), Lines in the Sand: (re)making contact, a creative and cultural grappling with what it means to be at home on Aboriginal land (Festival 2018 Commonwealth Games Cultural Program) and Inherit the Wind, an exploration of weather (internal and external) and our changing climate (Bleach Festival 2017).
My practice draws from Body Mind Centering, Process Work, Social Presencing Theatre, dance practices, and ecology, and considers how working at the intersection of ecosomatic approaches, dance making and awareness based systems change might be useful in these troubled times.
