The Migration and Mobilities Research Network (MMRN) is an interdisciplinary research network based at Edinburgh Napier University. Founded in 2017, MMRN brings together scholars exploring the complex and evolving dynamics of migration and mobilities from diverse disciplinary perspectives.

What We Do
As a research network, we collaborate to:

  • Advance understanding of diverse migration and mobility patterns, from shifting geographies of refugee migration and protection to critical perspectives on hospitality and tourism.
  • Create a space for dialogue between scholars, students, and practitioners across different disciplines, fostering interdisciplinary connections and reflective research.
  • Support scholars at all career stages, building a collaborative and inclusive academic community.
  • Strengthen connections with research groups working on migration and mobilities within and beyond the UK.

We welcome external members, including PhD students and colleagues from other universities, research institutions, and organisations working in migration, mobility, and human rights.

Network Convenor: Dr Kiril Sharapov
