Mill of Kintyre is a community interest company based in Tarbert, Argyll & Bute. It was established in early 2026 with the aim of supporting a more sustainable wool industry in Scotland. We plan to do this by adding value to local fleece by offering processing services and delivering workshops developed in partnership with our local communities.
The intention behind our workshop series is to bring our communities together through a shared love of wool. We will learn skills and explore innovative uses of wool while connecting this to heritage, sustainability and community enterprise. We believe Mill of Kintyre will make a difference by creating these regular opportunities for connection, learning new skills and building confidence in a relaxed, supportive setting.
By helping to process fleeces locally, Mill of Kintyre CIC hopes to rebuild value, reduce transport impacts and encourage greater appreciation of the hardy native and local breeds found across our region.
