Mount Isa Theatrical Society is a non-profit, volunteer run amateur theatre group performing 3 plays annually in the city of Mount Isa. We are dedicated to producing, creating, and presenting quality live theatre for our community. We nurture current & next generation members in a fun & inclusive environment. We thrive to support other local organisations in their artistic endeavours.
Beginning as a small group of enthusiastic people performing at the MIM, BSB club in the 1950's, to the fully incorporated association we are today!
Since June 2014, MITS has helped Mount Isa clubs and community associations raise over $27,000 through our 'pre-sold' ticket sale program.
MITS would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we live, the Kalkadoon people. We pay our respects to our ancestors who watch over us, our elders educating us, and the emerging leaders shaping our future within our community.
