Munimba-ja is the only Aboriginal run art gallery on the Sunshine Coast.  Libby Harward-Quandamooka founded Munimba-ja Indigenous culture space, contemporary gallery and shopfront in Maleny in November 2021. In this short time Munimba-ja has  established a reputation of presenting sophisticated contemporary/experimental Indigenous Art. Munimba-ja'fosters safe space, driven by local Aboriginal voices, creating and presenting the critical work needed to position contemporary urban Aboriginal art from the Sunshine Coast within the local, National and International arts ecology and explore, connect, engage and share with non-indigenous audiences through First Nations terms of reference. Munimab-ja has  a strong focus on cultural curation and considered public programming.  Munimba-ja is taking the Sunshine Coast (SC) arts ecology to a new level. An Aboriginal owned arts space that engages audiences in contemporary/experimental urban Indigenous art.
