Natalie Diggins is a movement practitioner based in Perth, Western Australia. Over the past twenty-four years her expertise, professionalism, and dynamic tutelage has earned her an outstanding reputation.
As an award-winning Drama educator, Natalie has studied with distinguished performing artists and movement practitioners including Janet Kaylo (UK/USA), dance-maker Dr Amy Voris (UK), Dr Lynne Bradley of Zen Zen Zo (Australia), Antonio Fava at the Scuola Internazionale di Commedia dell’Arte (Italy), Body-Mind Centering® developer Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen (USA), Professor Emeritus Susan Gingrasso (USA), Professor Teresa Heiland (USA), puppeteer Richard Bradshaw (Australia), puppeteer and director Philip Mitchell (Australia), choreographer Alexandra Beller (USA), director and biomechanics expert Ralf Rauker (Germany), professional clown Philippe Thibaudeau of Cirque du Soleil (Canada), and stage combat master Andy Fraser (Australia).
Natalie is a devoted student of Rudolf Laban’s theories and practices and is a member of the International Council of Kinetography Laban. She has presented her peer-reviewed and published research about how Effort and Motif Notation connect across cultures and disciplines at Beijing Normal University (2017), and the Hungarian Dance University in Budapest (2022).
A sought-after facilitator, Natalie is known for her warmth, clarity, and depth of practice. Her workshops have sold out at festivals and studios across Australia and the UK, and her work has found a home in classrooms across some of Perth’s most vibrant schools.
During her five-year tenure as Co-Director and Production Manager of WAMED Festival (Australia), she was widely credited with elevating the production quality and professional practice of the staged programmes.
Natalie is a certified Language of Dance® Master Practitioner, holds a Bachelor of Communications (Drama and Media double major), Graduate Diploma of Education, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and a Certificate II in Creative Industries: Live Production. She is currently completing her CMA in Laban Movement Analysis.
