Neuromuscular WA is a community-centric organisation that supports people with neuromuscular conditions and their families. We deliver social programs that foster friendships, inclusivity, resilience and connections to others in the same situation.
Our services also include: counselling, CoughAssist™ machines, NDIS support and advocacy. It’s care that’s just as important as the research we fund and the medical support they received – it’s what we call Support for Life.
Awareness, attention and funding for Neuromuscular WA is held back by the underlying perception that organisations trying to ‘cure’ disease are more worthy than those addressing the everyday needs of people living with these conditions.
Our role is to fill the gaps and at the end of the day, our biggest wish is that we won’t even need to exist as an organisation… that a cure has been found and no one has to live with a neuromuscular condition.
Until that happens, we are here, every day, to make life as comfortable and enjoyable as it can be.
