The service operates 24/7, flying critical care burn victims, spinal injury patients, neonatal transfers, trauma victims, and surgery transfers.
The NZFD Trust helps support the operational costs of the service, including the purchase of specialised equipment and training, as the Health New Zealand (Te Whatu Ora) contracts don’t meet the full cost of delivering the NZFD service.
