The New Zealand Society of Genealogists was established in 1967 by a small group of family history enthusiasts. In the decades since, we are firmly established as a national entity enjoying a strong and supportive membership base, with 60 Branches and affiliated groups around the country. The organisation is an incorporated society (CC22120), governed by a Board of Directors and has a national office and research library located in Panmure, Auckland.
The Society works collaboratively with many of our national institutions and repositories and has over the years earned a reputation for its commitment to the preservation of historic records and as a representative voice on matters affecting the community of family researchers and historians.
Mission Statement
