In late 2024, NPAQ was granted funding from the Queensland Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation to work collaboratively with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) to pilot an exciting new Parks Connect program in South East Queensland.
Throughout 2025, NPAQ and QPWS will be actively engaging the public with a raft of hands-on Parks Connect events and opportunities that excite kids and families about our national parks and the fauna and flora that dwell there. Including programs for Junior Rangers, Cadet Rangers, Volunteer Rangers and Campground Hosts, as well as an exciting Park of the Month initiative to engage communities, Parks Connect aims to celebrate and care for the State's stunning wild places and encourage Queenslanders to connect with them and protect them.
